    Default Tension problems.

    G'day everybody,

Just over a year ago I bought a Sheppach deco-flex scroll saw. Used it for the first time yesterday (due to other commitments not much done in the way of hobbies last year).

It worked well in beginning but after short time the blade tensioning knob started to spin loose while the machine was running. I found I had to retention every inch or two while cutting. If I cut any further the blade would loosen that much that it would come off. I could actually see the knob spinning loose when the motor running even with no load applied.

Have contacted place I bought it from and waiting reply as to if anything can be done, but as bought a year ago I am expecting them to say "No".

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can fix it?

Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do?

    Thank you,

    Grant.

One remedy could be to add a nut on top of the knob. I am assuming the knob runs on a threaded bolt that pulls up through a bracket that tensions the blade. With the tension tight with the knob put a nut on the thread and tighten it into the knob. Not a lot of pressure needed just nip it up enough to lock the knob to the threaded bolt
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod
