Default which filler for best adhesion

have a project where adhesion is critical. there are quite a few holes in one surface around 3mm diam. that need to be filled and wonder what is best to fill these with and maintain optimal adhesion. I generally use a section of dowel but consider end grain to be pretty poor glue face. 6mm plugs could be used but there is a still a percentage of end grain glue area plus of course cutting out bigger chunks of the native material. The glue is titebond original.

Would a dryish mix of sawdust and glue (titebond original) have better adhesion than a dowel plug?

thanks in advance for any comments

Can you get GorillaGrip where you are? (sold in goo gun cartridges here in NZ).
It's a polyurethane foaming glue that is very very tenacious. Just don't expect it
to be gap-filling in the same way Epoxy can be. But I think it's stick-ability is better.

Not to be confused with the red Gorilla Glue which is, in my experience, c.r.a.p.

    short answer ... NO

if adhesion is that critical, drill out the holes and plug them with face grain plugs
