Which Glue
I've always used white glue (plus epoxy and cyno in my model aircraft days) and just wondering if there is something better than white glue - I don't need or want to use epoxy.
My use is general woodwork using pine, I use off cuts so lots of glueing.
Cheers

I think that you will find that (white) PVA glue is stronger that the wood you are using.
Is there another reason for you not wanting to use PVA ?

You could write a book on the different glues that are available and what they are good for. Like most things woodworking, if you as 10 woodworkers you will get 15 opinions.
There are even different formulations of PVA that have different uses. My go to glue is a yellow PVA only available from more specialized wood shops. I also regularly use 5 min epoxy, high strength epoxy, CA (super glue), Gorilla glue, construction adhesives, contact adhesives and a multipurpose glue (sure to be others I have forgotten)
The yellow PVA I use is Titebond II which has a crossed-linked formula. It has a shorter clamp time than white PVA and is more water and heat resistant. So you don’t want to use it on anything you might want to get apart.
I use epoxy for jobs where gap-filling is an issue - CA where instant bonding is needed and contact adhesive for leather to wood for example.
The more I learn about adhesives the more I realize I don’t know.

Thanks guys,
I've been woodworking for a lot of years, I was just wondering if anything better than PVA had come along - based on the advice here I'll stick with it.
Cheers
