Default Best glue for this chair fix?

    It's a 50s chair.
A friend wants to fix it.
And the rest of the set.
Not terribly remarkable, but they were made in the suburb where we live, so that's something.
This is the worst of them.
I'll get all the old glue off and replace the broken dowels, but I'm wondering which is the best glue to put it all back together?
I of course have Tightbond 1 and 2 and epoxy.
I'll be making new corner blocks, too.

It may be a bit late, but here's my 2c worth. I've done a few repairs like that. There's a reason - it's a weak joint, and it comes under a lot of strain if someone leans back on it, as they inevitably will.
I route out proper mortices and make floating tenons. Make the tenons reasonably long onto the rails - at least 30mm or more. Traditionally, the glue used on chairs was always hide glue, as it was believed that it would adhere to itself. I've been told on good authority that that's a furphy, so any modern glue should do the job.
