Glue for timber chopping board??
Hi all,
Looks like I have been holding on to all my questions till tonight. Just wanted to know what glue is acceptable for use in the making of typical chopping boards from smaller blocks? I want to have a go at a few chopping boards...just don't want to poison anyone.....

There's a big difference in the chemistry between the liquid glue and the polymerized form when it has set up in service. Any of the popular woodworking glues should be just fine = just don't lick off the squeeze-out.
I don't know which glue was used in this board. Most of the time, I have some sort of sheet on top. Made years ago, this unit is very functional and convenient.
Used also for my apple peeler/corer/slicer tool and my Imperia pasta machine.
Not enough mass for a meat grinder but I don't care.

Hi,
I've been using Titebond 3 on knife blocks. So far so good after 6 months use.
Probably would have used epoxy if I had some.

HI Both Titebond II and III are both FDA approved so are eaqually suitable for chopping blocks etc and also excellent all-round use too.

Wow Robson Valley......You are a real "trendy....making your own Pasta.
Do you make apple pies after you have processed the apples?
PS I went onto Google Earth to see where Mt Robson is. Boy it looks to be an out of the way place to live. Its the sort of place I would like to live but the cold would be too much for me, let alone the long winters nights.Just do it!
Kind regards Rod

Gorilla glue
Our small bread board made of two pieces has come apart. Is Gorilla glue ok for fixing it? The Gorilla seems to be water proof enough, but I want to be sure that it is food safe.
