I've used Brigalow for turning small segmented bowls, and plain ol' Titebond III PVA did the job nicely. (I'm pretty sure I've also used 2-part epoxy.)

Although, admittedly, they're decorative pieces only...

    Thanks Skew

I am making a krenov style plane & Titebond was what I had in mind, but was a little anxious as to how it might work on Brigalow, if you have used it successfully on segmented bowls, then I guess it will work OK, so I shall give it a go as I don;t particularly want to use epoxy

FWIW, for segmented work I always use the "rubbing" method of gluing without clamping. It seems to give a better bond, as well as not needing to worry about creep caused by the clamps.

That may make a difference. Who knows?

I have never worked with brigalow but for any really good glue bond the surfaces have to be free of oils. Even oils from the hands have to be avoided. It's all about clean surfaces. Fresh planed, machined or sanded surfaces and a wipe with acitone just before glueup goes a long way towards a good bond.

I haven't used brigalow, but I have glued plenty of the other acacias and Cooktown ironwood with selleys "trademans choice", Haven't had any problems so far.

Well the Titebond 2 glue seems to have held the Brigalow plane together, I will see how it looks & performs after tuning, shaping, and finishing.
