Bosch POF 1400 ACE or Triton 1010w JOF001?
Hello everyone
I'm looking to get my first router. I'm slowly getting into the hobby and have some funds to get a new tool. I've done my research and have settled on 2 models that are available in my area for affordable prices.
The Bosch is cheaper, and has more power (1400W) compared to the Triton (1010W). In terms of spares I think the Bosch may have an upper hand as well.
The Triton on the other hand has both ¼ inch and ½ inch collets while the Bosch accepts 6mm to ¼ inch. The Triton has a built in router lift and that's also a plus as I'm buying the router to use on a Triton series 2000 Router/Jigsaw Table.
What'd you advise me to get between the 2?

I can only speak for myself but once my router went into a table, I bought mostly 1/2” bits. This was for two reasons - variety re larger profiles and more importantly, stability.

Hi Clyde; and welcome to the forums!
I have the JOF as well as its big brother; I would pick the Triton over the green Bosch any day especially as you are intending to mount it in a table. If you pick the Bosch you will be spending way too much time under the table making adjustments and changeing router bits. The JOF has plenty of power; I bought mine for handheld use and for using with jigs, it will take hefty cuts in hardwood with no complaint.
In order to use the above table height adjustment in the series 2000 table you will need to drill holes in both the router mounting plate and the table top to insert the winder handle through.
Regarding spares; every Triton part is available and easily identified through the parts diagrams available online. With the Bosch you may have to take it to a dealer to identify and order any parts.Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

Thanks for your feedback @Lappa & @Chief Tiff. I'll be honest, I've been gravitating towards the Triton as well.
Thanks for the tip about drilling holes in the table and mounting plate. I'll work on that when I get the Router this coming week.
