Building a Router Table
Hi,
A few weeks ago I started building a router table after finally managing to get hold of a scarce Triton TRA001. After a little while sourcing a few other supplies I was ready to go...____________________________________________

Time to get some plywood and MDF plus use some of that Spotted Gum I got last year... I am basing this on the NYW Router table but never got hold of the plans so winging it a bit
Working on the top, 2 MDF boards then mitre edged and marked out.____________________________________________

Next rounded the corners and chamfered the top, then made a template to inset the router plate. Had a few problems testing the template, the template followwer bit lost the grub screw on the bearing and started routing into the template . Managed to find another grub screw and kept going but that's why they say to do a practice run..
Also half built the fence.____________________________________________

I ended up getting a nice fit for the plate. Just glued the laminate onto the fence bits this arvo and routed the T slots into the back.
Jobs left to do:
- Rout grooves in the top for the fence
- Cut the channel for the T track / mitre gauge track
- Add the top fence part for the featherboard
- Build the dust extraction box onto the back of the fence
- fit the dual inlet dust extraction
- build door
- build drawers
- put face frame on
- fit switch / electrics
Hmm a bit to go____________________________________________

I know the feeling but when you have been using the GMC one for the past 5 years it starts to wear a bit thin. The GMC was still a useful tooI but had it's limitations and now I can have ago at some of those BIG panel raising bits

Liked yours Fred. You're right though there's a lot more finished than 'in progress'.
I'll have to see if I can keep the pace up...____________________________________________
