Any experience with the Union One router table
I'm in the market for a router table (no I don't want to build my own)
i had all but decided on the Kreg but then I had a look at the Union One at Beyond Tools Router Table RT-3224 by Union One – Beyond Tools and it looks really good.
just wondering if anyone has used one, has one, has any opinions on them.
cheers.

Cast top is nice but it seems a bit expensive. Nearly $1k and that doesn't include the router insert plate or lift.
Of the two I think the Kreg is better valueThose were the droids I was looking for.

But the Kreg is only $200 cheaper and is MDF, this is cast iron, has a dust box and wheels.

Don't forget the cost of the plate. Personally I would make one. I've made a couple so far and been really happy with them but that is me. I would be spending the money I save on something else but as a ready made option the Union One looks like it would be good to work with.
While not impossible it would be problematic to mount an Incra on though. (I do love my Incra) Just in case you might want to go that way in the futureThose were the droids I was looking for.

Looks pretty cool if you can afford it. I've got the Kreg. Wee bit disappointed with it. The fence is cranky to say the least, sticks and grabs, lousy design.
Also, if you are going to the trouble of stumping up for this one, with the cast iron top, you'd be crazy to settle for a plastic plate like the Kreg, mine has a slight bow in it now. Not huge, but if you are trying for precision, well everything helps.
Got the Triton 3 hp router in it - AWESOME!

With the Triton router you don't need a costly lift mechanism!

Thanks Bob,
yeah I like the fence on this table because it has the wind down clamps on each side, the Kreg fence clamp didn't look as sturdy.
I was thinking of getting this router lift Router Lift – Beyond Tools but maybe I'm better off just getting a triton router and a plate. Can you wind the triton from above the table or do you have to reach under and wind the handle?

Winder is on top, just pop it down the hole in the plate you'll drill for it (Template provided). For fine tuning mid way I also often just reach under to turn the knob instead, both ways easy, and I've found super accurate. My other regret is the phenolic plate, should have gone for the machined aluminium which would have been straighter.
The Triton is around $380 all up, with its own lift mechanism built in so pretty much a done deal unless you already have a router you love. Even then, the lift mech is more than the Triton????????

Also, you don't even have to remove the spacer rings to change router bits, just wind up, the router locks automatically, one spanner on top of the table to unlock and put the new one in, wind down.

Yeah that sounds like a better way to go. Aluminium plate and Triton router. Cheers Bob.

Yeah $635.00 for the Triton Router or $449.00 for the Router Lift.
I think I might go for the router lift.

I've been re-investigating table options and although it's not cheap, the Incra LS positioner and wonder fence look pretty amazing.
