You won't be able to use the supplied guide bushing for this. The RP1800 looks like it has the standard Makita base opening hole so there are a few different ways you can go:
1. Buy a replacement base that takes standard Porter Cable guide bushings, like - https://www.carbatec.com.au/power-to...c-style-bushes
2. Buy a guide bush adaptor - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Router-T...rW4:rk:13:pf:0
3. Buy a guide bushing set that includes the adaptor - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Router-G...ED8W:rk:4:pf:0
Don't feel that you need to purchase any of these items from the places I've linked to as I expect you could get them at a better price with a bit of a search. For instance I now notice that McJing have the replacement base for $15 as opposed to the $39 that Carbatec want - https://mcjing.com.au/categorybrowse...ategoryid=1345. And they also have the butterfly templates at what looks like a reasonable price - https://mcjing.com.au/categorybrowse...ategoryid=1253. You will, of course, have to buy a inlay bushing and bit set - https://mcjing.com.au/categorybrowser.aspx?categoryid=1346
Hope this helps and welcome to the forum.
Cheers,
David

I would just use a bearing guided bit (at the shank end) and make the template from ply or mdf.

I was assuming that the inlay would be on display? You're liable to get some nasty tear out on the edges with a pattern bit of the type orraloon has suggested. If the inlay is only to be used as a joint and won't be on display a pattern bit would probably be ok though.

I've bought this kind of gear from McJings, as suggested by aldav above - recommended. They have everything you need including a universal router base, guide bushings, bowtie templates, etc. Everything fitted on my DW621 router, and I'm sure it would fit Makita too.
