Default Mast-R-Plate

I bought a Mast_R_plate from Carbatec Brisbane last week after being assured I could purchase and fit the lifter mechanism at a later date Wrong on contacting Jessem they told me they are two entirely different plates. Ah well I'll keep the plate anyhow as I am using a Triton and it is a good plate that I can fit my other routers to if need be.

What I need to know is what holds it in is it just they weight of the router or is their a clamping system I'm unaware of.

Thanks for any advice.

Arch.
