Default Rail and Stile Router Bits

Hello all. Long time lurker first time poster here.
Just a question regarding rail and stile router bits.
Are the cheap ones on eBay good enough to get a couple of
doors made (pine) or are they complete rubbish and not worth
the headache. Would like to hear some of your experiences and
    opinions.

    Thanks
    Baz

G'day Baz and welcome to the forum.

Personally, I stay away from el-cheapo router bits. Ask yourself this, do you really want something spinning at 20000+ rpm within 300mm of your body, chest or nether regions if you are free handing or in a table? Not trying to scare you or put you off but you can't expect the quality (and for me) the safety of the cheap bits to be equal to that of a recognised router bit manufacturer.

Router bits vary enormously in quality, sharpness and longevity. Over the years I have bought bits as they were needed rather than boxed sets of which you may use 3 or 4 and the others never. Bits from recognised manufacturers cut better, last longer and can be resharpened.

Apologies if this sound negative but that is certainly not my idea. Try to buy once and the best quality you can afford. The router and bits, once you get used to them end up getting used for all sorts of jobs. Great tools which will provide you with plenty of enjoyment and add value and satisfaction to your projects.
    Regards,
    Bob

Thank you Bob for you input. And to be honest I
think you confirmed what I should have already
known 'you get what you pay for'. Also the biggest
point that will sway me to to pay the extra is the
safety aspect. Thanks again for taking the time to
    reply
