Default Ordering Router Bits From Amazon

    Hi all,

Have been trying to order the new Freud Quadracut Rounding Over bits from Amazon.com and I keep recieving a message saying they cant deliver these to my current address which is completely stupid, as I have ordered other router bits from Amazon and have had no problems. I have had three attempts now and no luck. Anyone know how to get around this problem and if not where else I can purchase these from overseas please. They are just too damn expensive to by here in OZ. Thanks in advance,

    Darren

There are many items located on Amazon which cannot be delivered to Australia.
Without knowing all of the details it appears as if some manufacturers will not permit Amazon to deliver to Australia (or other parts of the world) for the fear of creating an avenue to bypass the licensed Australian importer/distributor.

As for getting around it ..... if you look on the right hand side of the Amazon page it often shows up "more buying choices". Occasionally if you are lucky one of these other retailers will send to Australia, although the prices they offer may be slightly more, and their range of stock is less than Amazon which makes it hard to bundle other purchases.

Second option is to have Amazon deliver to somebody you know in the USA who can forward it onto you. Or if this isn't an option there are many companies now offering the service where they will receive your order in the USA, and resend it onto your Australian address at a small commission.

    Sir Stinkalot is spot on.

A few companies in the US provide virtual mailboxes that Amazon will deliver too and then the third party agent will foward onto your Australian address

    e.g. MyUS.com - ship-to-au

This is what I did to get around the problem through another company, it will add a little more time to delivery as it has to pass through another agency. I find often if I shop around that some retailers offer free delivery to a USA address so it only cost me the rates the forwarding agent charges for post. I have not had any problems so far.

For those USA mail forwarding services I have found PriceUSA to be the most competitive. I have used them for a few things now (including big stuff like a Christmas tree!).

I was faced with the exact same problem trying to buy MLCS router bits and other bits and pieces. I got around it and continue to use comgateway. I get my parcels sent to my phoenix Arizona address, they allow me to store each parcel up to 30 days and is cumulative and can hold all parcels until you chose to ship them all at once. Also because amazon use excess packaging they offer a repackaging service to save on weight costs. They are really decent with pricing and offer normal and express shipping. Never had a problem with damage of items or anything.

I now use this for the majority of my purchases because from amazon to my American address it's free shipping as it's internal to the US. Then I only pay one shipping fee to comgateway to keep costs down
