I went to look for mine. Couldn't find it but it's here somewhere. I picked it up at the local tip for a couple of dollars but was never quite sure how to use it. Thought it might come in handy for a jig or something.
I've also got a Black & Decker Mitre Master from the same source. It's a two piece sliding circular saw fence. You screw it to your circular saw, clamp it to your work piece and get a straight cut every time. That one has been used a couple of times but it only has a 3 foot stroke.
BTW I often mount my belt sander upside down in the vice. I've also mounted an electric hand drill in it to polish spikes for awls etc. The key is to find a place on the case that will stand a bit of pressure (eg. with the drill it's where the two tapped holes are for the removable handle)."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

I mount a jig saw upside down in my B&D workmate. The 2 halves of the table have a convenient grove running the whole length which grips the footplate of the jigsaw.
Never been a problem

I have a triton jigsaw which has as open footplate so cutting small pieces can be a PITA this is what I do when I want to cut small pieces (no room in my shed for a BS).
I wouldn't call it the safest arrangement but it's better then gripping the body of the JS in the vice.
For sanders I made a stand with a fence. (no room for s linisher either)
