Not a bad price either. $850 for the motor and lift

Would be nice to see an option with an NVR switch kit and speed control on it, would then be a contender for the similar AUK kit.

The pricing on the body as it stands is quite keen - the problem is it hasn't got a track record, so quality and longevity are unknown at this stage.

The price for the motor is very close to what a CNC spindle with 80mm body plus VFD costs and that is a far more versatile combination, something like this

I am not sure if the linked item will fit inside a router lift - unless I misread, the specifications on the router body here are:

I checked the specifications of the AUK router:

Motor outside diameter: 4.2inch (106.7mm ) to suit Incra Mast-R-Lift or PRL V2

I'm not suggesting for an instant that there aren't compatible CNC units out there - I've never looked - but in this case, one would need to be careful of the size I think.

The CNC spindle comes with its own mount, two linear rails and a length of all thread will sort out the lift problem for hundreds of dollars less and it will be a better result. If you are interested but unsure of how to go about it send me a PM and I will guide you through the build. Another huge plus with the CNC is it is way more quite than a router motor. I think the motor and lift would end up under $550.

Thank you Chris, the fact that this is possible was something I wasn't aware of!

I appreciate your kind offer - the reality is though that I already have the Incra Mast-R-Lift II in metric, installed in a router table, installed next to the table saw (and only waiting on coin to get the router and switch/speed control).

Of course, had I known before buying the rest of the kit, I'd have been well tempted to go that way instead!

You can bush your router lift to take a spindle.

There is a thread here on the forum somewhere that gives a lot of detail.

I have yet to build mine Shane because the prototype has just been finished and all the bits are still in Brisbane. Mike who built the prototype has not been well so things have been held up but we will get there. Have a look at this Yet another Router table build.

That thread is in two parts, the original thread and the second part is started by me some months later because I wanted to use digital control on a router table to position the height and fence position. There will be a full dummies PDF on how to do the whole electronic thing put out by Mike when he is feeling better.

A simpler version not using electronics but using the linear rails to mount the fence on and build the lift can be built for way under the price of a lift and a big router or even one of the AUK motors but the electronics could be added for about what the lift and motor would cost in total. You can see how Mike has used the linear rails and he had to go to a lot of trouble because the router required a lot of fancy brackets to get it on the vertical rails. The CNC spindle will attach to the vertical rails far more simply and take about an hour to install. I cannot see any reason to use a conventional lift and router, they cost heaps and have way too many drawbacks. If anyone is interested but is unsure of things or just wants to have a talk about all this PM or email me if you have my address and be prepared for a bit of evangelical sermonising because I reckon this makes a conventional router table obsolete.

Slightly off thread I know, but if you just want to see pictures of the linear rails, automated fence and router lift and my old Triton router mounting then this page has them all. ****Picture page**** - This is fully operational and in use and it's only the prototype - it works so great that the only change I will make will be to retrofit a Spindle motor.
