    Default Router Plate

    Hi All

Had some issues with the plastic router plate I was using to mount my Triton Router in my router table. Had a look at some of the commercially available plates and decided to make my own for substantially less dollars.

Machined this plate out of 6mm ally and also made some inserts to suit a variety of bits out of 3mm ally. I engraved some lines on it to show the centreline of the bit to assist in setting up fences, etc. Cost about $20 all up.

Thought it may be of interest. Forgive the photo quality, they were taken with my phone

    Cheers
    Geoff

Geoff, are you interested in making one (or possibly more) for sale?

    Hi Geoff

I've never contemplated making things for sale. This just my hobby and I'm reluctant for it to become any more than that.

However, if you, Wolften and Fence Furniture would like one each, since you've asked, I'll do them for you as a favour. You guys can just cover the cost of the ally plate. Not looking to make a profit.

If you each PM me with the dimensions you want it can be tailored to suit your router and the recess you've got in your table. I'll put some grub screws around the edge as well so the height can be adjusted level with the table top.

You'll have to be patient though as it might take a couple of weeks or so until I can get it done.

    Cheers

Definitely a greenie for you, and a PM to the other chaps on its way

Ooops, Geoff I'm sorry if I have opened a can of worms. Your offer is very generous and I'd be grateful to take it up. As yet I don't have a table so size is not a huge issue, I'll possibly go with a commercial top so I'll get some dimensions and shoot them through.

    Thanks for your offer.

    Regards Geoff.

I bought a piece of 12mm Aluminium plate to do just this. Son walked into the workshop, picked it up and asked if he could make some caliper brackets out of it for the kart. End of router plate, sigh.....
