Just one more router table build
Hi all, I've been thinking through for a long time about how to build my ideal router table.
I'll be installing my Makita RP2301FC in it permanently.
I've been looking at getting a Kreg top and fence and build a NYWS style inspired cabinet underneath.
I'm just wondering does anybody have the a Kreg top and fence and thoughts on it?
Also, will I be able to mount the router without to much hassle?I cut it twice and it's still to short.

I've got the Kreg top and fence on top of a pine frame which I'm yet to fill in with cupboard and drawers.
I've had it about 3 mo this and have found both to be very good. I mounted a Triton router to it which was very easy, as the drilling holes come pre-marked for a few routers. There's a few vids in YouTube on how to mount your router to the table.

I have a Kreg table complete with top and fence. I have a triton router mounted in it now, previously had a hitachi in it. No problems fitting either. I use the table frequently and found it Excellant. I have no thoughts of replacing it.
Like all of these types of things take your time and set it up correctly, it may take a bit of time but it's a great investment and you will get great results.

Thanks for the replies. I've ordered the top, fence and a couple of accessories.
Just waiting on delivery, and with a rdo and public holiday this weekend, I'm hoping it turns up by then.

Hi, I am very new to the woodwork forums.com and I found from reading your posts that I am looking at purchasing the Makita RP2301FC. Equally and I looking at a suitable table to mount the router. Some time has passed since you last post, did the Kreg table and accessories arrive and meet your expectations? Can I ask what size Kreg table did you get? Still not sure if I attempt making my own table!

Hi Greg, welcome to the forums.
I bought the full size top and fence, can't remember the sizes right now.
I have used it for a few small projects so far and very happy with it.
I haven't posted any finished pics of it yet because I haven't quite finished the cabinet I'm building under the top yet(due to health and haven't been able to get in the shed as much as I'd like).
The reason I bought the top is because it was very much what I was after and saved me the time and hassle of working out how to make it, but custom making the cabinet was so it would be how I want it.
I'd suggest doing plenty of research and look online at what other people have made, though I found quite a lot to be very similar the Norm Abram's design.
Hopefully I'll have it done soon and be able to post some photos.
