router table for gmc1200
hi guys, new to the forum and new to the country. Both seem like great place to stay awhile.
I've just bought myself the gmc router which seems fine for a beginner like myself, it was cheap and came with a shedload of bits. i know you get what you pay for, and one day once i've mastered the art i'll upgrade.
In the meantime i want to buy a router table - making one just seems far too complicated at this time - and the consensus from reading the forum seems to be that the triton table is the way to go. Are there any other options? and most importantly can anybody tell me whether my router will fit?
many thanks
Nige

Welcome Nige, and we would appreciate no references to either the Ashes, Rugby World Cup nor Tri Nations, thank you.
I'll leave others to advise on router tables to get, but DO NOT, on any account get a GMC router table. (or only an Orange one)
I am actually very pro GMC since their QA seems to have come under control, but everyone's got their lemons, and the router table would see an ocean of Margueritas on their way, sorry, G&Ts to you.Bodgy

Hey you've still got the netball at least...
thanks for the advice re GMC. i'm off up to the 'big smoke' tomorrow (well Albury at least) so i'll see what Bunnings say about it all. Though having read the many comments re them on this site i doubt whether it will do much good!

I'm not sure Bunnings will have a router table. You may want to try and make the table top version that Roger Gifkins, given a full standalone table may be too difficult a project.

If you're going to Bunnings on the weekend, then they should have a Triton table and stand.
Give them a call just in case. You could use the web to search for web retailers, but Bunnings will probably have a better price. Perhaps there are other Hardware stores in Albury - maybe they stock Triton as well. You can get indicative prices from northwoods, justools, carbatecwa, to name just three stores with a web presence.Burn
