My latest routing project
The black lacquered french style balloon clock in this shot is my latest project. I hope to produce a pdf with 60+ photographs, each with added text detailing every stage of it's making.

Yes indeed, I've made many of these balloon clocks, these are the only ones we have kept and eventually the new black one will be given as a present. The problem making more of the large Jarrah ones is the difficulty obtaining quality Jarrah plus the cost, remembering that I don't sell anything that I make, what we don't keep is given as well received presents.

The large Jarrah one is my favourite too.
Beautiful work.
How long have you been making the clocks, and how many do you estimate you have made?
I will have a look for more of your beautiful work. Thanks for sharing your picture.

Thanks for your kind words. The large Jarrah one that we all like was my first in 2001, soon after I retired. The beauty of template routing is that multiple copies can be made, all hopefully identical, (from the same templates of course. The four clocks shown in the photo are the only sizes that I've made to-date. I've probably made around ten of this type but clocks in general I couldn't even make a guess. I tend to go through cycles, a few clocks, then perhaps a few trinket and jewellery boxes then perhaps some turnings, of which I'm far from being and expert, but improving all the time. then there many pens in wood, Acrylics, Aluminium, brass and stainless steel!Inbetween I have made an illuminated router base, an indexing system for my mini wood lathe plus many template guides. most, if not all these projects have been presented on another routing forum by way of a series of photographs, all with added explanatory text, and for some time as a pdf. This photograph shows the four sets of templates for the balloon clocks.
