SB's New Router Table
My new router table made from the plans in Australian Woodsmith N# 17. It takes a little longer than a weekend but when time is not as important so long as you get it right and what you want. I changed some of the dimensions so it would suit my needs better but it is basically the same. I put on an INCRA fence and I have fixed it to some T-track so it con be adjusted even more than the standard. I also put in an extra cupboard on the right to put in my hand held router. The casters are lockable so it does not move. A Woodpeckers Unilift completes the package. I really like the fact I can move it with ease around the workshop to where I want it and to connect up to a dust hose. enjoy
SB
Ps: Graham at PWS did look after me for the Unilift and INCRA Fence.
PPS: the clips on the sides at the half way mark are so it can be split into 2 parts for transportation in the future.Power corrupts, absolute power means we can run a hell of alot of power tools

Very nice SB. I like the idea of having the Incra fence mounted on T-track.
I'm sure you'll get lots of use out of the table. My router table is probably one of the most useful additions to my shed.
I have 2 cabinets and 4 draws on mine - enables me to keep all my router stuff in one place.
Yep, having things on casters is great when space is limited.
Cheers, Kev

The T-track idea came to me when just knew at some time in the future that I will need more than 300 mm for a router cut than the INCRA fence will allow. All I have to do is measure the old fashion way from the router bit. I got the INCRA fence not for dovetails as I don't do any as yet (but I'm dieing to have a go) but as a very good fence and once set up right I can take all my measurements off the INCRA fence in metric and write them down for future use.

Noice. I am putting the top together for my new router table at the moment. Then I will start thinking about the cabinet. I will probably unashamedly plagiarize some of that good work.

Nice Job SB, now go and get it dirty
I understand the satisfaction that comes from the build but you will get more from its use, especially when it works just as you knew it would. Enjoy your good work.

Bob

Nice work. May I ask for your opinion of the switch and where you purchased it from?

The switch is from Timbecon in WA ordered over the net. It's not what you might call the best on the market but it does work. I think for the price it's just OK but these things cost allot for a very good one with feel to it. I think I would feel happier if it was more robust with the actual switch as it's a little, how you say, missing a feel of positiveness when switched on and a bit flimsy. This is the only way I can express it I'm sorry to say, but it does work OK.

update
Well this table is performing just great and all the ideas I had read and seen seem to work to my advantage. The extra width to accommodate the INCRA fence has proven to not only give me more under table space for storage but when the fence is removed and some paper placed on the top, a second work top to work from. The main drawback is the INCRA fence as it's the ultalite and as such has no dust collection port, however, I'm working on a solution, it will just take time. In the end if dust and cuttings is all I have to worry about to have this router table then I can live with it.
