Skil 297 collet
Hi.. not sure i i have posted this on here before.. the cone collet on my Skil router has been snapped by over tightening on too smaller shaft ..(not me)
Having trouble locating one... so was considering making one... Q..has anyone tried this ?

I haven't made a collet specifically for a router but I have made collets for milling cutters and if you have the right machinery (at the very least a lathe) it is not a difficult process, ideally they would be made from a flame hardening steel and then hardened and tempered but you can get away with non hardened or even brass for occasional use.
