I've only just come across this Saw & Bits mob! Far out I can't believe the pricing on this stuff. I wanna drop a bundle on bits and blades - unfortunately, we've had to get replacement credit cards and the bank has stuffed it up....so still waiting for the cards before I can order Hope these $5.50 prices last!!!

    Cheers,

    Will

    Fellow Woodworkers,

What am I missing here, other than the buy of the century???? A bit and saw supplier wants to provide router bits (and saw blades) at more than 90% (for some bits) lower than normal prices and doesn't take a credit card. "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".

They want direct transfer of funds or a cheque? I am supicious, so I decide to send a cheque, but first look on Google Streetscape for the address and premises. It is a private house (no problems here) without a letter box to receive my cheque(?)at least on the day the photo was taken.

I know forum members have said they have received the goods and none have expressed any concern about theirorders, but is that the trojan horse to get access to bank details for use later? Thismay sound paraniod but there are many scams out there and I do not want to impugn a reputable supplier.

Perhaps someone can answer these questions

How can the bits be made available so cheaply?

Are youconfident in the privacy of your payment arrangements?

Why no credit card or Paypal payment method?

as far as i know the bits are "end of line" type thing im not 100% on that but i would bet James (the guy that sells the bits) would be more than happy to explain.

i think this would be a first if it was a scam. cheap bits..you pay..you get

as for confident on the privacy of payment details. well what do they see your bank your account number and name and thats it. you either use electronic banking or you don't if you are worried don't

as for the credit cards and paypal.. well i run my own business and wonted this service too, until i found out the cost involved, credit cards is feasible but its just rude what they wont for paypal, so i would say its the cost

i have found dealing with James to be no problem at all and i have received my orders very quickly considering i live rural

One elaborate scam, given the number of members that have laid out $1000's and recevied their bits, the seller has laid out as much, if not more and is liquidating. Pretty elborate for bank detials taht are of no use to anyone, withouts paswords etc. Bank transfer no problems, or the banks would advise against it. Othersied you could asy teh same about giving out your credit card number

After seeing the prices wanted for the bits and blades, I didn't read any further through the thread to see why they were selling at that price - stock liquidation sounds reasonable to me.
I placed my order during the week and got an email from James apologising for the delay in shipping. The problem was actually my fault in that I'd put down a wrong order number as a reference when making the bank deposit. Can't complain about the service.

Still to use any of the router bits but I tried out one of the saw blades in a newly bought B&D 185mm saw and it cut cleanly. I also tried out an aluminium cutting blade with success.
Currently thinking of a good reason why I need to buy some more

I have gone to the well four times. I was first tipped off about this by Dei Sensei ( Neil ) when i was over at his place.

He had all the goodies he had ordered and received on his table,

I put in a $100 order and was surprised by the professional web site. I have since followed up with three more orders. I had a question with one and James answered me the next day,

On a review of the products I took one !/2 Panel bit to our Wood Club and the top guy tried it out. He was impressed so much that he did not order for the club but ordered six bits for himself.

I had previously said I was unsure about the quality of the reciprocating blades. Well. now that I have given them a good work out I give them a thumbs up.

I had ordered a Motza and was a bit concerned that I had gone overboard, but I have to say this is the deal of a life time.

    ahh, maby the price

Paypal and CC handeling costs money, paypal is unsecure for the seller, cc handeling is a pain in the ????, Direct deposit is free, completely safe for the seller and just takes a bit to clear.

BTW 3 orders, havnt been scammed yet by sawandbits, just wish he wasnt closing shop, I hope he still sells his bits later on.

Also the fella about the goods losing value, these items DO NOT have a time limit they will always be in demand, they will have the same demand now as they will in 4 years time UNLESS they are replaced by a better bit which would be rare.

I think he's talking about the devaluation of the investment in product and not in the router bits them selves. The longer it takes to to realise your investment the less return on investment you get. i.e. if you just stuck your money in the bank and received a term deposit interest over the same time span, you would be ahead, then you have to take into account on costs so this means more loss in your investement as opposed to the bank deposit. This is real as if you can't make more money with your investment in stock, then everyone would just stick their money in the bank for a better return. It is the potential higher return for risk that makes some people in business very rich. the sooner you cut your losses in stock that does not sell the sooner you can reinvest in stock that does sell at a good profit.

Put an order in last week ,received them today ,I haven.t used them yet but they look much better than others I've bought for much higher prices.
I will keep buying until he stops selling them.
