Default Tee Slot Cutter for Track Clamps

    Hi Guys,

I came across this bit at Axminster which cuts slots that the festool track clamps can run in.

    https://www.axminster.co.uk/axcalibe...-clamps-101972

Do you know of a bit that is available locally or another option ?

    Thanks!

I have the axminster one - works well.

Postage is pretty reasonable if you're buying a few things from them, and it'll arrive quicker than getting it from the locals. Sad, but true.

T-slot bits are certainly not hard to come by, they are sometimes referred to as keyhole bits. Not sure that the Carbatec offering linked to would cut a deep enough groove to accept the Festool clamps. You will always get the best result with T-slot bits if you cut a dado with an appropriate size straight bit first and then follow through with the T-slot bit, much less strain on the T-slot bit that way.

Carbitool has them CARB-I-TOOL - Router Bit and Accessories Catalogue - NOVEMBER 2015

As aldav said, always a good idea to run through with a straight bit first.
