Woodpecker Insert Plate to fit TRA001
I am considering buying a Woodpecker aluminum Insert Plate for my homemade Router table. Will it fit onto the Triton TRA001 Router without drilling, there are several American Woodpecker websites that say it will fit straight onto a TRC001 router and i have never heard of that particular model of Triton. Thanks Tarat

I have the Woodpeckers Phenolic Resin plate for the Triton. The model number of the plate is TRC-001. My 1400watt Triton fits perfectly. You shouldn't have any problems with the Aluminium plate either.

Yes they fit
Hi
The good folk who designed both Triton routers 'borrowed' the hole layout from the Porter Cable 7518 router. The plate we sell here in Oz, whilst marked TRC001 fits both Tritons.
It also is drilled to accept the Router Raizer that fits the TRA001. We also stock the cast aluminium plates that are interchangeable with the Tritons.
I hope that this helps?
Regards
Grahame

I wonder when the local price of these things will begin to reflect the near parity the Austrlain dollar has with the US. I feel that we are paying too much. A quick search on the internet suggests that you can make considerable savings by sourcing these items yourself.

Think it through...
Hi Nummins,
We can all react to the current strength of the AUD, but it's easy to forget that our stock value is at the exchange rate at the time we bought it. Our balancing act is; do we carry stock to satisfy demand or do we hold off and buy when the AUD is high. Our customers of the last 12 months would not have liked the latter, I'm sure!
Also, remember that the published exchange rate isn't what you end up paying after the banks get their snouts in the trough.
We constantly monitor our purchases and will change prices when appropriate.
Regards
Grahame

Just spent some considerable time fitting and leveling the Woodpecker phenolic plate.
The Woodpecker instructions advise that you remove the plastic base from the router excepting those with thin bases.
The Triton has a thin plate.
I learned this the slow way when the plate wouldn't level in the PWS top without the base.
Grahame, I suggest you add this to the instructions you supply with the top.Cheers, Ern

Ern, just had a look at mine, just to make sure I wasn't imagining things.
I have a Woodpeckers phenolic plate from Grahame and a Triton TRA001, and the plastic base has been removed.
What problems did you run in to?

Simply couldn't get the plate to sit level in the rebate with the router base missing and the router mount screws hand tightened. With all the leveling grub screws backed right out one corner would sit high. Plate was being distorted I'd say. Backed the router mount screws right off, then it would level. Add the base, ditto, with the mount screws tightened up.
Cheers, Ern

Admittedly I did mine quite some time ago, but I seem to remember that the Woodpecker plate was supplied with shorter router mounting screws?
Was yours?
Later:
Yes, just had a look, original screws are with the Triton base.

Plastic base is 3mm thick.
The mounting holes in the base are countersunk, as are the original screws.
The mounting holes in the phenolic plate, although recessed, are not countersunk, so screw lengths would need to be different.
The original, CS, screws are 9.3mm.
The new screws, FH, are 12.3 thread part only. But they are recessed in to the 10mm thick plate.
