Default 150mm table saw dust port mod

    Hi guys,

I finally got around to undertaking the mod on the table saw dust port from 100mm to 150mm.

I decided I didn't want to mod the existing back plate so made a new one out of scrap mdf.

I found that the DWV Bolted Trap Screw PVC Top 150mm worked perfectly as I bolted it straight into the mdf.

Essentially I removed the cap and used it as the flange to mount to the mdf.

I then used the expanded end of the 150mm pipe to insert the flex into it and it fits into the outlet as a slip fit.

I have carbatec 150mm flex which is slightly larger diameter than the expanded end of the pipe so I just cut a few slots which was enough to push the flex in. Duct taped it up and looks like it worked a treat.

Now off to do the jointer.

Pach, in this post I discuss ways of making those fittings a little more flow efficient.

May be worth doing if and when you next have to remove the fitting.

@pach, out of interest where did you pick up the 150mm screw lid DWV fitting from?

@poundy, I just went to the local Plumbers Supplies Coop at Leichhardt and they had the 150mm ones in stock. Cost just over $10.
