Default Does a 2hp dusty have to be perfectly vertical?

OK, so this may be a stupid question, and i'm still not up with all the workings of a DC, but does a dusty (specifically a 2hp) have to be perfectly vertical to work properly?

I have a fair bit of time on my hands at work (I'm very efficient) so have a lot of time to ponder my eventual shed layout and had another thought (or brain fart) that i may be able to implement in my small shed. I don't have the ability to house my dusty outside (joys of strata living), so my initial plan was to put it in an enclosure inside the shed, and have an outlet going out the window or out the roller door (and around a corner).

So my latest brain fart is, what if I have it on a pivoting pedestal, that tilts the dusty 30-45 degrees or so, so that the filter bag (that's the top bag right?) is hanging out the garage window? all the fine dust will be carried off in the breeze, and i can tilt it back into the garage when not in use and close the window...

I realise it wont be perfect, but just thought it might be a nifty way of getting rid of the dust without having to come up with a removable outlet...

**If you would like me to stop posting my weird ideas, feel free to tell me so... or just don't reply... i'll get the idea eventually

In a standard configuration the top filter bag need to be as vertical as possible so that most of the larger pieces of sawdust fall out of suspension.
If not the large pieces end up sitting on the side of the filter bags and this further blocks the filter.
It also makes it MUCH harder to shake the fine sawdust off the sides of the filter so that it falls down into the collection bags.

The Wok Style configuration would probably work better on an angle than the standard configuration.

Bear in mind that poking the DC out the window requires the gap around the window and the DC to be well sealed as the DC makes the shed a lower pressure than the area around the outside of the filter bag and the fine dust will go straight back in through those gaps.

The top bag could be horizontal if a suitable large transfer duct in the shape of a 500 mm diameter Elbow was used but it would still have the shake down problem mentioned above which is why its rarely used.

BTW there's no such thing as a weird idea, it just needs even more imagination to implement.

Thanks BobL and Ian for the replies (and acceptance of my weird ideas).

I figured there'd be a reason why all DCs seem to be vertical. some interesting possibilities with wok system... I'd always figured that any solution i use in my space would require more maintenance filter cleans/changes than a conventional setup.

I'd have to do some measuring/designing to see if its even possible in my space to have the filter bag hanging out the window (i suspect the current window opening is too small).

I'll probably go for an internal enclosure with some sort of removable outlet for the window as it seems an easier option. I was just looking at DCs online, saw them all vertical and thought "why?" and can i tweak it to suit my needs.
