The guy (Bob) needs to do some more research on dust collection but some of you may find something useful in the video.

Great to see a continuation from his first design but as I learnt the hard way, he needs to add a delay from shutting down the dusty after the machine has stopped as well as a delay from when the dusty is running down to when the blast gate closes again. The current sense units that he used would not be legal in Aus the way he has installed them but there are other options out there. Good find Bob

What maxxsinner said, and on the second point of dusty running down (maybe not the same issue that MAX was referring to). Air flow / vacuum creates a lot of resistance to the gate slide plate - especially with bigger 150mm gates and a REAL DC - You can get away with it at the moment of DE power up but not when the impeller is running or spinning down - unless of course you have a powerful vacuum or geared driven linear actuator, and usually the more powerful the device the more expensive it becomes. It's just simpler to program a delay for impeller spin down time before operating the gate and save money.

But of course if you need to change gates on the fly then a more robust design would be needed than the one shown in the video.
