    Haha just came here to post this. 4" only has to be the most stunningly bad idea ever. People with this kind of money to spend on DC are probably using something a big larger, at least offer an option.

    I guess I should at least appreciate that we're seeing some innovation in this sector.

    The same company does do 6" version but Timbecon has chosen (I guess) not to sell it because the end price would be too high. Sometimes less margin and more sales equals the same thing but it goes against the philosophy of retail sales in Oz. The only auto gates I have had anything to do with have been operating for many years 4 days a week with excellent reliability in a Men's Shed.

    The 6" metal gates would end up at near five hundred each, that's getting up there with pneumatic gates from industrial vendors. Doesn't surprise me that Timbecon don't have them yet, maybe if they can get the system established in the market it might come later. But that still puts it into the realm of small commercial shops rather than the hobbyist on sheer cost alone.

    I personally thought the remote control for the DC, the tool autosensors and the pocket remote were excellent ideas.
