Carbatec CTF-1000 Air Filter Spare Parts
Hi Everyone,
I've got a Carbatec CTF-1000 room air filter with a faulty control board. Carbatec sell replacement boards for $125.00 plus postage. This is a ridiculous 1/4 cost of a new unit.
Does anyone know of another after market supplier or perhaps the same filter which is sold overseas under a different name?
Hopefully I can buy the same board overseas at a more reasonable cost!
Thanks in advance.

Do you need all the 'features' like multi speed, delayed turn off or remote control? If you just want on/off you could by pass the controller and use the wall switch or a remote control socket to turn it on and off.
Your problem with buying from overseas is that most of the machines are made for the Nth American market and the control boards are going to be 110v not 240v. Otherwise, try Hare & Forbes/Machinery House or any of the other importers/retailers (such as Jet) of similar units as the 240 volt boards are likely to be generic.

Hi Everyone,
In the end I purchased the circuit board and new remote control form Hare and Forbes. Their circuit board was half the price of Carba-tec genuine and fit right into the original mounting holes and connectors.
The Hare and Forbes circuit board will not work with the Carba-tec remote and vice versa, but this wasn't a problem for me as I needed a new remote anyway.
If anyone has a similar problem in the future I'm more than happy to guide you through this.

Hdo1,
it looks like Tolyinoz is not active on this forum anymore - he has not posted for 3 years. You could try sending a private message - he might get a notification if his email address is still the same.
In the meantime you may as well try looking for solutions elsewhere.
Good luck with it.Cheers, Bob the labrat

my instant reaction when i saw this post was - did you follow ALL the instructions and buy the remote fob as well? Are you sure that you haven't got the old and new mixed up, and does it have an LED when it transmits? Those things will be the basics you can check as 1) you need the correct fob for the new unit and 2) the battery might just be dead
