Dust Collector hose
What's the best price for 100mm flexible hose for use for dusties? So far I have found the following prices per metre:
Hare and Forbes -$13.20
PTMS - $19.80
WMS - $18
Timbecon - $12.90
Carbatec -$14
Anyone got a supplier who is cheaper than T'con/ H&F?Cheers
Jeremy

Jeremy, I guess it depends on how much it would cost to get it to you. Timbecon may be the cheapest per mtr, but delivery would bump that up substantially. OTH if you can pick it up then you only pay for fuel.

Thanks Fred - ATM I will probably wander out to H&F at Northmead one Saturday morning, but before I spend my hard-earned, I just wondered if someone had a bargain! (Hope springs eternal)
Cheers

Jeremy, just another thought. C/t and I think H&F sell a DC hose & fitting kit, which includes 2x3m 4" hose. Normal price is $129 at C/t, but they have it on special quite regularly at $99. I have purchased 2 of these kits at different times, basically you get the fittings and clamps for nothing.

I know you are in Sydney but may have a similar supplier down there. Have found this supplier cheaper than anyone with the hoses I bought, namely hydraulic and 3/4 water (fire hose)

One suggestion is to run as much of the system as possible in rigid, and limit the flexible to shortish lengths to connect machines and dusty into rigid, llowing for vibration, movement etc. The concertina/ribbing on flex will generate more turbulence within the tubing, resulting in less suction overall.

Probably not cheap, but our local blackwoods has flexible pipe in several grades. I have the brochure at work if you want details.
Might be worth calling your local blackwoods shop

See if there is a Purple Pig near you. They are a supplier of wide range of hoses including flex duct for dust extraction.
