Felder AF 12 | Ø 120 mm
I am setting up my new workshop.
Has anyone got any experience with a Felder AF 12 | Ø 120 mm, I got the chance to pick up a used machine (3 days at the World Skills Comp 2016) including hose, fitting and quick release clamps for a good price. Cheaper than what I would pay for a Chinese junker?

It's a 1.5HP machine.
Manufacturers claim is ~800cfm, but with a 125 mm opening and 7.2" of WC vacuum it unlikely to deliver more than 680 CFM.
It will have a similar performance to an unmodified 2HP DC if 125 mm hose/ducting is use.
As the Felders impeller is already integral with the filter housing it will be very difficult to modify to improve its performance
For its HP it is a fair performer but just like a stock 2HP DC its still below even what a DIY WW operation should have.
OTOH given your shed power restricts you to a 2HP or less DC anyway, if you are not prepared to modify a stock 2HP DC to improve its performance and you are getting the Felder for a good price then I'd say its worth getting.

Its a stop gap measure - In a year or two I would upgrade to a much larger system. If it will suffice in the interim.
I would still like to hear from anyone who actually has one.
