Hi guys, first post, so be kind. Great forum, very informative and eye opening.
A few months ago I decided to build a dedicated workshop room in the downstairs area of our house. I had previously done a lot of woodworking down there with mainly hand power tools and had little dust protection from the rest of the house apart from plastic drop sheets and a large fan pointed out the garage door. Needless to say with this "temporary setup" over the years the dust and noise has caused many problems. So I built the workshop ( 5.7 x 3.9m ) and invested in some machinery. Table saw, bandsaw, planer/ thicknesser, dropsaw, combination disk/belt sander and plan on adding a few more down the tack. Along with this lot I also brought a 2HP dust extractor with a pleated filter, thinking that would suit my needs..... Then I started reading this forum along with watching a few Utube clips and started to become "enlightened". So I thought I had better get me one of those cyclone thingies and purchased one of these Hare and Forbes CDS 2/3's.
Thankfully before running any 100mm ducting, I learnt that wasn't the go, so now I'm using 150mm pipe. Now after further reading and research here and on Bill Pentz's site, I think I should be locating the DE outside or vent outside. This will involved rerouting some plumbing and adding approx. 8m of extra 150mm pipe and a few bends.
    My questions are -
Could I use the equipment I have and locate the DE and cyclone outside inside a garden shed (however I feel the 2HP DE will be under powered)?
Or - I could remove the motor and fix to the top of the cyclone as per this thread, then vent outside?
Or sell the 2HP DE and upgrade to a 3HP and mount that to the top of cyclone and vent outside?
I realise that I shouldn't be running 100mm flex from the mains to the machines but will need to at present, then do any machine/ hood mods down the track.
Any advise or info would be much appreciated, as I would like to get things up and running asap after taking a few steps forward and quite a few backwards.IMG_2363.jpg
