    Default here we go another...

because it does not really fit anything else Ive asked.

had dropped in my arms today a GMC baby dust collector, Id guess its only 3/4HP just the hose (if you can call it that) motor and dust bag, all sit close to the floor.

Could or should I adapt somehow this for small portable power tool use around the shed, or sell it at an upcoming garage sale and be ignorant of its use.

If it's the one I suspect with the bag attached directly to the fan housing, sell it at the garage sale. I had one and it was a right PITA to empty shavings from the bag. In frustration one day I ended up cutting the bottom of the bag open to empty it.

I call those things "dust distributors" as they fail on collection on all fronts.
The flow is so poor they leave most of the fine dust behind and any is does grab pass more or less through the fliter.

There is another use for these fans, as blowers not suckers. I found ours very useful on at least two occasions to assist in drying out carpeting after water damage.

Another use is as general shed ventilators, ie remove the bag and install it up against a hole in a wall so that it sucks air out of the shed, but watch out some of them are very noisy. Overall you are better off using a "hydroponics" fan (fan used extensively by the "grow your own" crew) because these fans are so quiet.

I know the fans your talking about, Son in law got busted using one of them awhile back, thankfully learnt a lesson, but I did envy that thing.

just bought 5 x 3m lengths of 150mm DWV pipe from bunnies They wanted $43.85 for each when the 6M they should have had according to their website and instore inventory was $67. so a bit of haggling and got them at right price.
Am preparing my shopping list for pipesonline for elbows etc

Q again.BobL mentioned somewhere that not all tools need 150mm they can use 100, that being the case what sort of 100/150 joiner do I use. the sharp ends of a (reversed) reducer seem very sharp and thats what I thought we were trying to avoid?
