I’m with you and then some. Because most of us have only a certain number of computer screen hours a day poaching members to watch usually useless videos cuts back on reading and contributing to the forum. Without the participation forums start to disappear.

Self promotion of a YouTube channel is in my eyes no different than being a business and coming here to inject your name and products into the forum. Both are self serving. The businesses aren’t allowed to do that here unless they pay for their own spot. Should be the same for someone’s YouTube channels.

A person linking a video of a problem they have and need help for or one as it pertains to information is fine.

This was to add to Bob's post #29. You guys type faster than I do especially when I use the phone.

That's this guy in a sentence. 10 minutes to fit a cyclone to a collection drum and suck a few paint chips through it.

Oh dear, a simple Google search of the forumname is very revealing. The first 3 pages show hits for:
    woodworkforums (here)
    woodworkingtalk
    ukworkshop
    cnczone
    twitter
    youtube
    9tube
    facebook
    reddit
    yaipoo
    lifehacks
    thvideos
    ru-clip
    mp3racha
    cinemapichollu
    getlink.pro

    Kinda busy eh?
I didn't bother looking any further.

I wasn't even referring to DE and not even dangerous vids just the ever growing useless audiovisual dung pile that is YT.
It will all end sooner or later.
I may not be here to see it but I think it's inevitable since the $hyte is growing far faster than anything of value.
