Default Portable dust separator - test run

Here are the photos for the test run of my portable dust separator. All comments are welcome on the dust buildup on the baffle plate at the end of the test.

Only 80% of the dust sucked up went in to the separator. the restr ended up in the DC bag

    Not a good result

Hi Jill, Is the inlet and outlet the right way around? Looks back to front to me.

    Hi Jill,
I've built four of these separators, and, on each one, the vacuum is applied to the centre fitting at the top. All mine work well, so, as has been suggested, your hoses are probably connected the wrong way round. Change them, and see how it tests then.

Well, I swapped the hoses around on top of the separator, and it worked fine. I put through 1500gms of sawdust from my table saw separator ( plywood sawdust, and dado cuttings from plywood), and 96% by weight was captured in the separator. The hose to the dust extractor was quite clean inside.

    whew.....
