Ask the right question, sometimes get more than ask
picked up two recondition blower - vacuum for a small cost. Now to get the electrician to look at them, need to rebuild the face plate for the green unit as it was fitted to 180mm spiral steel ducting, no I didn't get that, it went to scrap as the plant was pulled apart. both are single phase.

I've played around with those sorts of blower.
Two problems with the ones I played with were;
The impeller blades - there are too many and they can choke with shavings.
The other is they are very noisy.
The outlet is also quite small so the flow rate was not that inspiring.
What RPM is the motor?

So bobL please enlighten me how the shavings are going to block "MY" impeller, as would know I have a two cyclones. a small one for hand power tools and a large one for saw bench, band saw, lathe and for the router bench. thus goes in this order "dirty side - cyclone - filter- clean side - blower.

the green unit came out of a CNC panel router line, it was pulling from the cutter head, up 1.5mt/120mm flex, then down 6mt of 180mm duct through a cyclone, filter, Blower in to a secondary filter then out of the shed. what I saw before they stated to pull everything a part, it was enough for me to ask if I could have them, the aluminum unit was being used in the table as down draft to hold the sheet in place while being machined.
I maybe understanding this wrong, the thing that was explained to me that there has to be some sort of a restriction in the outlet of the blower to assist in preventing flow over in the vortex of the impeller, like when you have large HP motor in a boat driving a prop that is too small and it causes Cavitation or the other direction where the impeller is to large for the captive flow thus creating the opposing cavitation. this is what I understand.
all I need to know that it will "suck" for my purpose

This means it will be a high pressure low flow setup - that explains the small intake and outlet because it is not intended to have any air flow.
