Default Replacement Remote control for Jet AFS 1000B

Following the great workshop flood of 2016, I couldn't find the remote for my Jet AFS 1000B room air filter, so since then I have had to use the push buttons on the chassis to make the machine work.

Today, I found the remote - it had floated across the floor and hidden itself under some shelves. Not surprisingly, even with new batteries, the remote does not work now.

Does anyone know where to get a replacement (I have sent a query to Jet from their website, but I thought I would ask here too)? Google hasn't been my friend on this. Alternatively is there a generic 'teachable' remote that I could use?
    Cheers

Can't help with the Jet remote Jeremy, but I doubt a teachable remote will work - it relies on the old remote to teach it the frequency.

    What about remote power sockets:

You could use the remaining four for DE, Shop vac, Radio, fan etc. I love 'em (but don't have that brand).

I would suggest emailing Jet and asking the question.

I don't think a remote socket would work, the switches are just membrane buttons, not a physical switch, so once the power point goes off it won't remember the last state. I know ours don't.

We have 2 remotes for the 4 filters at work; if you can find a learning remote that can directly read the infra-red output and save it to memory, and the boss lets me, I can send you one to program from and you can send it back when you're done.

Thanks for that offer. I am tracking down a suitable learning remote so it would be great if you could ask your boss if I could borrow one of yours for a short while.

I am not a great fan of email when it comes to stuff like this, I pick up the phone and and call and I always get what I want straight away.

The query by email was bounced - the interesting thing is that the server that bounced it was the Carbatec server (I suppose that makes sense since Carbatec is the Aussie distributor).

So I phoned them, but Brisbane head office siad talk to loca store and all the staff in Sydney are 'busy' with other customers.

I'll see what happens if and when Carbatec ring back.
    Cheers

Don't think I've ever heard of someone waiting for Carbatec to call back.

Not one of CT's strong suits unfortunately. One day they may learn that better communication equals increased customer satisfaction. A bit off topic but it illustrates the point, the CT bit starts at about 1:55 seconds.....

Carbatec didn't ring back (or if they did, they didn't leave a message). I gave them a couple of weeks and then followed up.
I decided not to mention that I had already tried to talk to them. The guy at the Sydney store was helpful and a new remote is on its way!

Let's hope that it is in fact compatible

The remote turned up today and it works. So all's well that ends well .

I also got a learning remote, so I'll see if it can be taught and work too and keep the replacement as a backup and use the learning remote as the first line remote. That way, if something happens to the learning remote, I have the genuine replacement and I can get another learning remote to replace it!
    Cheers
