Default Single phase to 3 phase through Powtran VFD

I have a Powtran PI8100a 004G1 VFD which is to be connected to a 15 amp single phase supply & then this will run a 3 phase 3kw Monarch Induction motor from Teco Aust on my Dust collector. The plate on the motor states
    Delta 240v 10 amp
    Star 415V 5.8 amp

When testing the output terminals from the VFD (without the motor connected at this stage), I get 240v.
    ie test terminal A & B = 240 volt
    A & C = 240 volt
    B & C = 240 volt
Obviously I am a total novice when it comes to electricity, but I was under the impression that the VFD would produce 415v when tested across those terminals.

So, if I am getting 240v three pahse, can I get the motor configured to delta configuration & it will then work?
Or am I missing something in the setup here, or is the VFD not producing correctly?

Any help & clarification would be much appreciated thanks

There are very few VFDs that will do this and expect to pay 2 - 4 times more to get this capability

Correct and it will produce the same power as when powered by 415V.

If you leave the motor in star config the motor will only run at half power so it will be overloaded by the impeller size /air volume which will damage the motor.

Thanks BobL. That is just the clarification I was looking for.
