It is shorter than I thought cause I didn't have the back frame up in place. The length is 15 1/2 inches and about 7" hih and about 4" wide so not so big.
It would be nice to have a hired hand to do the cleaning.

I can't wait to see you finish this one. What type of finish are you going to put on it? I also am very interested in the Chevrolet pickup plan you got. I have a soft spot for Chevys.

Top effort.

This toy making does take need some care and attention. Their are a lot of fiddly bits that take forever to assemble.

I need to have a few projects going at once otherwise i would go mad trying to finish one to quickly.

My thoughts also. I am also working on finish up a lighthouse I started some time ago. I made 4 lighthouses and the the one for myself just never got finished.
I also want to make 3 new ones for my sisters for Christmas. I also will get back to bowl turning as well so lots to do. By the time I finish all this I should have my 3 toys built

Truck
There is nothing glued on the truck as yet. Today I made the rad and test cut a fender. I have to shape this fender and if it comes out fair then I will cut a pair. Next everything has been sanded to 180 so now I will sand 240 and 320. The finish will be a semigloss clear poly spray and some areas wipe on.

I have not gotten much done of late. I have done some shaping to the fender but I will have to cut the width down a bit next to the truck body. And when I get to the point of gluing them in place I will really have to remember to get the wheel centered to the fender, (it is not centered here)
Also I started gluing some parts together(not shown in these pictures). The white glue I bought is very runny. I shook it well and still runny. It was a good brand (LaPage;s) I might as well stick with the yellow or is the white suppose to be runny?

Their is white glue and their is white glue. But overall the yellow glue I know is a lot thicker than the white type.

The advantage of the white for toys is if you do your shopping it is a fair bit cheaper then the yellow.

I use both but try to use the white as much as possible unless I want a quicker glue up with some fiddly bits before I clamp with small lightweight Clamps just to keep them in position.

I got this all glued up a week ago and today I put a finish on it. A couple of things I did wrong and they really show up.
I glued the cab piece by piece on the frame and it went a wee bit crooked on me. This now throws out the engine block, the roof and the back section.
The second and most noticeable mistake was not to test both fenders before glue, It seemed they were very close in shape. I made one fender. then 3 or 4 days later made the second fender and one went on higher than the other. The glue was too set before I really noticed to make any changes
All part of the learning process I guess. It doesn't look to bad displayed one one side only.
