Delivery Truck T&J
Started on the delivery truck from Toys And Joys.
Got the plans on sale at Grizzly and looks like a fun build so far, there are some strange parts to it but I'll need to work around them and change up some stuff.
Here's what I've got so far.

Making wheels
Made some wheels and tried out some different centers.
They are cherry with a rim of oak 2 7/7" tall - 1" thick.
Stained them with a vinegar and steel wool stain they will have danish oil on them when dry..

More on the wheels.
I built two set of wheels, so here's my second try at some truck tires.
I ebanized the tires to get the black look.
I think these new tires will go better with the truck.
I don't know what it is but I really don't like the rim ring,
I've only put them on the hummer and they came out all right but on these smaller wheels it starts getting to busy me thinks.

Worked a little on the roof and shaped the fenders.
Think I got enough stripes on this build?

Sprint car carrier
Got a little more done today.
I need to hurry up it's going to be getting to cold to work here shortly, but you wouldn't be having that problem right now would you chowie?
IMG_3897.JPGIMG_3898.JPGIMG_3899.JPGIMG_3900.JPGIMG_3901.JPGIMG_3902.JPGIMG_3903.JPGIMG_3904.JPGIMG_3905.JPGIMG_3906.JPGIMG_3907.JPGIMG_3908.JPGIMG_3909.JPG
Now you can see what it's going to be a Sprint car totter.
Been making my models here lately so two can take the place of just one.
It will have a tilting bed like some of then flat bed wreckers use.
All ways like to change up the plans a little.

It rained all day here and I'm hurting so bad I can hardly stand it but did get out in the shop for a couple a hours.
So here's what I got done today.
Didn't get to the hydraulics but having the deck almost done will help with that.
It's just sitting on the frame to get a look see.
Crowie thanks for the pictures they helped me to see what I need to fill in the underneath of the deck, fuel tanks and tool boxes.

looks good
like that you can change direction in the middle of a plan and it still works out

Thanks all for looking in!
It's funny I've never built a truck with one back axle and can hardly stand it, it just doesn't look right to me.
If I had another set a wheels I would go with two.
Maybe once I get the mud flaps and tool boxes under there it will look better.
oneye I hardly ever go with the plans their really only a suggestions to me, I would go with out the plans but they help to get the right proportions to start with then off I go in another direction.
I love the looks of the box on the back of the stock plans for the truck but it would really take up a lot a room and this way I can put the Sprint car on the back and show off two models in the place of one.
And thanks all for looking in and love the comments and suggestions so I can turn in a new direction I may not have thought of.
