Default Any One Know This Guy In Tassie?

I just received 4 pages from The Sunday Examiner May 23 (Tasmanian Paper)
In the Sunday Mag section, there is a writeup on Mel Brunden and his wooden Toys (Scale Models more like it)
The paper itself has more and better pics, including a Motorbike ,trucks and Mel working in his workshop.
I tried to get it up on the net,but the examiner wants 22cents each time someone wants to read it.

Goto the examiner and in search type Blunden then look for pics. they are free

Amazing work - hate to think of the hours that go into those models though.

Certainly not 'toys' by my definition !!

Hi there all, Sorry for the late post but I was searching for pics and this conversation came up in the search. The original article now seems to have been removed. This fellow is a close friend of my uncle. His models are perfection personified. Every piece must be carved of 1 piece of wood perfectly, or it gets tossed. Most of his models get around 2000 hours. Yes that's two thousand!.

Tim thanks for digging this back up. Would be great to see his collection and works maybe on a website or blog.

    Default Hand-crafted Wooden models

I found this after a bit of searching. Couldn't find any write-up however, just photos of the models. People like that shouldn't be allowed, they mak the rest of us hide in shame!

Right then, I'm back. I've contacted Mel Blunden and have had some photos sent to me (heaps actualy) but I cant seem to upload them. "Insert a picture" wants a url. I don't get that. I have up loaded pics before and didn't have any trouble. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Anyway if you want to have some email me and I'll send you some.
