Looking good Col. I will be interested in how the cane works as well. That could be used for alot of different things.

thank you Crowie, I have got some cane, from a room perfume difusser, that I am going to give a go,those sites you gave me made interesting reading. CD.

It didn't look right the mud guards did not come foward far enough,so I cut them off and will add a little bit,also I wanted to try out this <"SHRINK PIC"> programe that I down loaded after read of it in one of the posts, I just transfered pics from kodak to desk top and loaded them direct to this site, no mucking about trying to resize them etc, worked for me CD.

I never resize mine, just take them with my little Kodak EasyShare at 3.1MP resolution, then upload. The site software seems to take care of the rest.
Otherwise, MS Paint resizes JPG, BMP, TIFF, GIF, or PNG pics without a problem.

WELL HOW ABOUT THAT untill I read that, and went into the menu on my Kodak easy share just now, I didn't know that I could change the mp. size THANK YOU for that. CD. PS. See that is why they print a hand book you gotta read it!!!

No worries CD, glad to help.
That's why I mentioned my exact model - in case your's was the same. I used to take my pics at 10MP, but they were too large to be useful. I find that 3.1MP is just about right for looking at details. (Better than my eyes.)

Col did you get the number of the car that hit you or was it a hit and run job, I see you are already replacing the damaged wings,no telling these drivers today .looking up a Packard car1928 ,the guards seem to finish at the end of the scuttle or front door pillar the car was a tourer and you can just see the bows from one side,if it would help I can perhaps scan it and post,if you want.

I just got the latest issue [May-June 2013] of the "Restored Cars" magazine in today's post
and on the front cover is a Red 1937 Packard 120C Convertible Coupe so there must be a feature inside.
I'm correct, a 2 page feature story on the model plus another 2 pages of photos of the red one...

Thanks EDDIE, I went to the MAFFRA car museme (bloody good display there) there were four different cars there with canvas tops, each had a different set up, an old BUICK had tubeular(no spell check) steel bows, would have been done in the restroation I guess, SO after all that I made the bows out of 1/16" brass tube and Iv'e covered the top with black leather and brought it down and over yhe eadge so you can't see much of the bows,,pictures will be posted this arvo, CD.

well as you can see I didn't got with the steam bending of the wooden bows (couldn't do it) nor the cane as it was to flexible, CD.

Still, we both learned something - that cane is too flexible.
I reckon the brass tubing will look pretty good.

We've got door handles and wind screen<> inside of the hood<>a hood fitting<> ditto<> interior view<>ditto<> just showing the extension to the mug guards. nothing is really fitted properly yet, I am not happy with the radiator, so I've made one up out of brass sheeting, still have to either drill it or get a stick on to simulate the core,my picture I'm modeling it off had a square type grill, and I'm not sure how to do that.
About that SPELL CHECK , I found It!!!! hope Ive got the photos in the right order CD. don't know how to delete that one of the bucket

It's looking pretty nice. I quite like the brass ribs for the roof. They look good.

On the radiator, for my Roadster I used the Dremel router table to route a criss-cross pattern. Is that possible? I'll try to find a pic.
