    FORD A MODEL TRUCK
    Finishing bits

The door hinges and handles are made and fitted
The dowel was made with the help of the small steel plate as shown .I drilled the plate with the sized hole of the dowel I wanted
I then cut a thin strip of Jarrah and spun it in the lathe to roughly the dia I was after.I then punched it through the hole in the plate as shown.
Doing it this way it ends up very smooth and no sanding needed,
Cut the dowel to length for the 6 hinges and sanded the ends sqr on a dremel type tool (GMC)
The finish was applied (CA glue was used) sat them on a piece of wax lunch wrap so they wouldnt stick to anything.
The door handles were just shaped with the dremel tool and coated the same.
Using some free plastic tweezers from the Doctor I put a dob of thick CA on the parts and put in place.

Default Ford a model truck finished today

FORD A MODEL TRUCK FINISHED TODAY

This model was easier than the 34 Chev in a lot of ways.It is my second model so I surpose I had a bit more experience this time.I also had more tools etc to do the job as well.I didnt spend as much time making the truck parts, something I should have done really.Like anything,I could have made it better if I took more care.I have learned a lot of things from making this truck
I have had emails asking how or where on thingsThe only things I know about wood work I have learnt from this site and and some books plus what I have worked out for my self. Most of the equipment I have is cheaper brands or I got cheap, plus a few modified tools I made to do different jobs for me.
Waynnicko,a forumite lives near me and I picked up alot of hints from him and hope to get up to his standard one day

Anyhow back to the truck and some finished pics.I will post some more when I sort them out as well
The first 3 shots are on the assembly line in the shed. The last two on the glass table are the done and dusted truck
    Thanks Guys
PS I included a shot with my 34 Chev
Also must thank David at Perth Wood School for sending over the Jarrah for me.
It has been bought to my attention that Started My Car thread is 9995 at 4.50pm so it looks like today is a big day for me.Thanks heaps guys.It keeps me going. it went to 10,001 at 7.00pm today

Looks great mate. Think I'll have to have a go at one of these one day. I've got enough scraps lying around to make several

    Top work.
