WIP Western Star Truck
Well I have started my 2nd model build a T&J WS truck
Heres photos of the beginnings of the build
I intend to make changes to the suspension as the plans are very basic and not realistic in that areaP6049021.jpgP6049023.jpg

Agree with Peter a great start to a second build. A couple of years ago I came across a Western Star truck at a rally, so I took a few photo's.
Have a look HERE

G'day Crowie , I bought pre wired LEDs on Ebay here
20pcs LED PRE Wired 3mm 5mm 10mm 5V 12V 24V White Warm RED Blue Green Amber RGB | eBay
Holes drilled to suit in my case a 5mm hole right through and a slightly larger hole part way to set depth via raised collar on led
the roof lights are drilled at a shallow angle to aim them forward
the junction boxes are in the sleeper
I used 12 volt leds
I am going to build a low loader to hitch up to it and have ordered smaller amber 3mm leds for the side lightson that
any more questions just askLast edited by snapper1; 28th July 2016 at 08:21 PM. Reason: typo / spelling

That's fantastic.
Great stuff.
I am going to run lights in my carriage throughout all compartments. Did you use just a 12V battery or transformer. I was looking at putting my control panel and box in the toilet of the carriage or would you suggest a plug contact point to connect the carriage externally to a 12 V transformer ? (hope that makes sense)
Again top work
Regards
Keith

Matt ,yes a trailer is next, as per my previous post
Keith I am using a 12 volt burglar alarm battery at this time plenty big but the challenge is hiding it behind or under the display.
If you use a transformer make sure its a match for the number of leds and their combined power draw
Too much draw and burn out transformer
Too little draw and a unregulated power supply will push out a higher voltage and maybe burn out the leds
if you go that way do not skimp on the power supply
I may yet go that way when the trailer is included and number of leds is finialized but will see how it goes using the battery
