    Default Wood type for propeller

    Hello,
I would like to make a working model of an aircraft propeller.
    Wooden blades, aluminium hub.
Could someone suggest a suitable type of wood from which to carve the blades please?
    Probably 200 to 300 long.
    Thanks and regards,
    Dennis

    G'Day Dennis,
My father-in-law used to make and fly model airplanes & gliders; one of the tricks he used for strength & lightness was to laminate the timber with a very fine sheet of Kevlar between the layers of timber.
So my thoughts would be to do similar with a close grained timber for you propeller.
I hope that's of some assistance, Dennis.
Please ensure you add photos and build notes as you go with the build, thank you.
    Cheers, Crowie
