    Default cherry pip pen

    G'day
Saw a video of a chap making a cherry pip pen and since we bought some cherrys over xmas , I decided to have a go .I left the pips drying in the sun for several days . It was heatwave
conditions .I then gave them repeted cycles in the microwave until there was no further weight loss.I then cast them in epoxy under pressure.
Turning was a real pain because cherry pips have a hard shell and a slightly softer center which tended to chip out . I repaired the chipouts with 15 minute epoxy with a speck of pigment added . I had to do this several times as I would just get one spot fixed then a new one would show up . You can see some pips have a red center where they have been repaired.
I think this will be my first and last cherry pip pen.

Well done, although take more care on your sizing, looks like you have over sanded the ends. You could remedy this by building up your CA surface thickness.

Because there is a seed within a seed cherries can be a pain. ensuring the outer shel is cracked or pierced is a must. I've also found they are a good contender for vacuum casting with epoxy
