Default Some of my first casts

After a lot of reading and contemplating i deceded to have a go at casting PR. I have made a few pen blanks with limited success. Recently i met up with Neil for a few tips and some inspiration, now every time i find a piece of timber that previously would have ended up in the fire pile, i think to myself i bet i could cast that

I cast a couple Cholla cactus blanks and turned them down to make perfume atomizers. I can see how this casting could become addictive, it will be a long time till im up to the standards of others on the forums.

Thanks for looking

Stevo

Nice selection of colors , I find the ladies do go for pinks and purples (in the main) hehe !
nothing wrong with those ,and the cholla adds another dimension again ,in it's raw state its quite fragile but once cast and supported works rather well .Well done
Cheers ~ John

I turned a couple at Q-Turn, a swamp banksia and a smaller WW, to a slightly different shape. The kit I used was for a lipstick form, so the top was too long, because I forgot to shorten the tube . I also had a problem with the elcheapo super-fast home-made Dynabolt closed end mandrel not running the blank true. The bottom were only just Ok, but the caps ended up 0.2mm on one side and 2mm on the other and were binned .

Love the red & white number, on the LH side in the first pic. That is classy!

Nice work - both of you!

Not exactly smitten by some of the colours but the effects are interesting.
