    Default swap from Mick61

Received my package of goodies, from Mick.
The pen is made from Buloke, very nice fit and finish. My wife was really eyeing it.

    Thanks again Mick!

    Cheers,
    Rob

Ya wives always do that look over. Just do not let them leave your hand or they are gone.

I recieved my swap pen from Stryker yesterday, only got the pics onto my computer this afternoon due to a problem with the computer that got sorted today.

Its a nicely turned Sierra, with a Mesquite blank full of character, also in the box was a stave off a Jim Beam barrel . Should get a few nice pens out of that, cant wait for the aroma when I turn them.

Stryker let me know last week he recieved my pen, so I will put up some photos of it.

It is a Spring Blossom with a segmented blank I made with some Cape York Beefwood and Grey Ironbark stripes. I cut the Beefwood so that all 4 pieces have quartersawn faces.

One accidental feature that I was quite happy with, was that the stripes lined up with all 4 thread starts.
I sent some blanks as well, but didnt take a photo of them, but they were a very similar mix that I sent Mike in Nanaimo, there are photos of them in a previous post.

Got this from Roger (Qballizhere) Yesterday ,its a nicely made Appolo I think? pretty complex looking patterning of a multitude of laminated timbers also included what I am guessing is an alligator jawbone casting ,should make a special pen from this , thanks again Roger . Cheers ~ John

Recieved my pen from Todd yesterday and what a magnificent pen it is. I don't know what the kit is but it is dressed in Spalted Crabapple finished with ca at a guess, also included was a Seam Ripper for SWMBO so there is no chance of her getting this pen. Included in the box was an assortment of pen blanks which will make some nice pens looking at the grains and the colours. Thanks again Todd for the swap.

Thanks also to the organisers of the 2012 swap well done.

I got a good laugh out of that one too.

I have used similar tube to send pens before, but I wasnt so creative to give it a good name like that.

    Default Pen from Big Shed

Here is the kitless pen from Big Shed that I received. It's a great looking fountain pen custom made and the photos don't do it justice. Along with the pen was a leather pen case and a few wood blanks (timbers).
This was a great surprise and has a new home on display in my office.

I have also included a picture of the longwood click I sent. It was made from Ebony with Purple Heart and Holly segments.

    Thanks Cindy!
It is a Black Titanium Baron. The pen from Sturina has become a favorite. I really like the weight and the fact that it is a very dependable click pen. This swap was fun. Sturina's pen makes me want to try some segmenting.
