I am so glad they arrived there. The segmented blanks I made over 3 weekends at home when the hospital let me go home during the weekends.

    Cheers

    Default Swap Pen

My swap pen from Atherton Pens arrived a little time ago sorry Gary for the delay in posting. I have been using the pen pretty much since it arrived [lots of studying at the moment]. It is a nicely balanced pen to use. I also recieved some nice blanks. My hat goes off to the organisers of the pen swap thank you.
    Cheers Gerry

My Swap Pen from Robert (aka MrPukashell aka my yankie brother) arrived a couple of days ago. I have to say I'm very very happy with what he has sent me. It appears to be a Baron Kit dressed in Curly Maple with a wave form inset into the cap. The wave is made of Walnut and Maple. This is the first time that Robert has tried this technique, after attending a class by John Beaver who does wave forms in his bowls and other turnings. Robert went home and applied the techniques he learned to a pen blank with most excellent results. This one is most defiantely going straight to the pool room.

He also included a whole mess of blanks. The unnamed one next to the mesquite is butternut and the two long ones at the top are Afzelia. I'd never heard of this one but after searching the forum for mentions of it and seeing how nice it is I can't wait to try it out.

So Robert thank you for a wonderful pen and blanks and my thanks also go to Nick for organising the swap.

    Cheers
    WH

I thought I posted in this thread but it seems that I might have posted in another thread.

When I returned from holidays I opened the box from IowaYank. Thank you for the pens and the blanks.

I am so glad that you like them. It did take 3 weekends out of the hospital on weekends to do them and the 2 blanks.

I know you will use them well just by seeing the pens you sent me.

    Cheers

Forgot to post awhile back but received 2 wonderful Pen's and blanks from Allan At Wallan. I've been without a camera since right around the first of the year thanks to my 5 year old. Allan, if you have any pics of what you said me I'd be grateful if you could post them.

Default Here is my SWAP to wm460

My SWAP partner this year was Mark Eisen(wm460). I asked him a few nosy questions about his birth year what type of pen he might like and we both agreed that a fountain pen was definitely the pen of choice! So I chose to go with the Atrax Fountain pen kit from Berea Hardwoods, however, i believe i may have bought this from Exotic Blanks. Being that Mark lives in Australia, i figured i would go ahead and wrap the pen tubes with the Australian Flag and take a Florin coin from his birth year and wrap it around the lower barrel. I also traded out the stock nib with a #5 Bock nib and threw in a schmidt converter as well! I gotta say, the pen looks pretty sharp in person! I really had a hard time letting go of it, so Mark, Enjoy, from this side of the pond! Hope you put it to good use.
