Default My completed work bence - so far

I have finally fitted my front vice which means that my bench is more or less complete. Just a few dog holes.

Here is my blog entry detailing the whole process. Hancocks Hardware House: Bench build

Bench comlete.jpg Three rough boards bolted to a steel frame to a nice bench top with front and end vices. A lot of work, a lot of mistakes and a lot of learning. Oh and a lot of people in this forum providing advice and education along the way - thanks all even though you may not have known it.

Thanks. Yes, that is the plan. I was thinking of 3 wide. One either side of the bard and the third between the wood screw and the left hand bar. Being n on-symetric they challenge my OCD.

I bought some 25mm rubber feet from Bunnings and they complete the handle.

That's looking great, very sturdy. Some mammoth nuts & bolts holding on that front vice or is just how it looks in the photo?

The nuts are mammoth. I had to break out a big ol' Sidchrome OE spanner I inherited from my old man to tighten them. I have a set of OE and ring spanners from him. It is the large QA model here. https://mcjing.com.au/categorybrowse...ategoryid=1599 Interestingly mine does not have the dome nuts pictured in the illustration.

I started drilling the dog holes last night when the little woman called me in for dinner.
